Takes the Most +EV Line

옵티멀한 플레이가 항상 가장 +EV 라인이다.

Two players areplaying theoretically optimally when they are at what is known as a

Nash Equilibriumwhich occurs when neither player ever has an incentive to deviate

from the way he’s playing. That is, ifa player ever takes a line with a hand that isn’t the most +EV, they havean incentive to deviate and instead take the most profitable line.

두 플레이어 모두 각자의 플레이 전략을 수정하는 것이 이점이 없을 때 이를 Nash 균형이라고 하며, 이 경우 두 플레이어는 서로 이론적으로 옵티멀하게 플레이 하고 있다 말한다. 즉, 만약 한 플레이어가 가장 최고로 +EV가 아닌 라인에 따라서 핸드를 플레이 한다면, 그들의 라인을 수정할만한 이유가 생기고 이 수정된 라인을 따라 플레이 할 때, 최고 수익이 나게 된다.

Many players oftenget this concept confused and think sometimes an optimal player

will take a less +EVor even a –EVline if it makes other hands in their range play more

profitably aftertheir opponent adjusts to them. But this will never happen against an

optimal opponent whowill not change his strategy when he sees his opponent take a non-optimal line. That’s because his strategycannot be beaten and by adjusting he can be

exploited by anopponent who recognizes the change.

 많은 플레이어들이 이 개념을 혼동해서 레인지의 다른 핸드들을 상대방에게 맞게 적응한 다음에 플레이 할 때, 옵티멀한 플레이어가 조금 덜 +EV거나 심지어 -EV라고 생각한다. 그러나 옵티멀한 플레이어가 상대방이 옵티멀하지 않은 라인을 택한다는 것을 알고 자신의 전략을 바꾸지 않으면 이러한 일은 절대 일어나지 않는다. 왜냐하면 옵티멀한 플레이어의 전략은 지지 않으며, 만약 이 옵티멀 플레이어가 전략을 바꾸고 상대방이 그걸 알아차린다면 익스플로잇 당하기 떄문이다.

However, since anoptimal player will never change his strategy, this means that when

playing against weakopposition, an exploitative strategy should be more profitable than

an optimal strategy.For instance, if a player folds too frequently, constantly winning

small pots from himwhile refusing to give him action on large pots without the near nuts

is likely moreprofitable than playing optimally. So while an optimal player always takes

the most profitableline against an optimal opponent, more profitable exploitative lines

will usually be possible when facing weak opposition.

그러나 옵티멀한 플레이어가 절대 전략을 바꾸지 않을 것이기 때문에, 실력이 떨어지는 상대와 플레이를 할 때에는 익스플로잇 하는 전략이 옵티멀한 전략보다 더 많은 수익이 날 수 있다. 예를 들어 만약 플레이어가 너무 많이 폴ㄷ한다면, 지속적으로 작은 팟을 스틸하고 큰 팟에서는 넛이나 넛에 가까운 핸드가 아니면 그가 액션이 있을 때 포기하는 전략이 옵티멀한 전략보다는 더 수익이 날 수 있다. 그러므로 옵티멀 플레이어는 다른 옵티멀 플레이어들에게 최고의 수익을 얻을 수 있지만, 약한 상대와 플레이 할때는, 익스플로잇하는 라인이 더 수익이 좋다.
